The modular design enables simple expansion, behind a PowerEdge RAID Controller 5/E and 6/E (PERC5/E and PERC6/E), up to 3 enclosures or 45 drives per RAID port. Or expand your existing PowerVault MD3000 and MD3000i external controller based storage arrays by daisy chaining 2 additional PowerVault MD1000 enclosures for a total of 45 drives. The versatility of the PowerVault MD1000 storage array enables you to configure the specific combination of storage resources you need now, and add more storage volume later, while ensuring life-cycle and usability of your hardware for the long-term.
